I’ve tried Croustillant D before when it was based at the Seven Stars and LOVED IT! It was a great offer on Wriggle for Moules Marinière. When the Seven Stars shut for refurb, Croustillant D moved to The Richmond – conveniently located next door to my office!!!
During the unusually warm February weather, we decided to go for a team lunch to try out the new Croustillant D menu at The Richmond. The chef, Seb, was super friendly and chatty and really happy to explain the different options to us. It was really nice to speak to him about the food and get to know the menu a little better.
I went for the veggie Halloumi Hot Dog, which came on a brioche sub with sweet chilli sauce, mustard and shallots. They even make their own halloumi! When I ordered it I didn’t really know what to expect but I am SO glad I did. It was INCREDIBLE!!!
The sweet chilli sauce was really tangy and sticky, it went perfectly with the mustard and the crunchy deep fried halloumi. I’m a sucker for anything brioche and the sweetness really complimented the chilli sauce. It was honestly so so tasty. The best veggie ‘hot dog’ I’ve had in Brighton!
I had a side of sweet potato fries which were absolutely delicious too. It can be hard to get sweet potato fries crunchy enough for my liking, but these were pretty much perfect.
I paid £13 for the hot dog, fries and drink – can’t argue with that! The food was absolutely delicious, friendly staff from Croustillant D and the Richmond, and it was super nice to sit outside and eat in the sunshine. 10/10 would recommend!
