Fresh from the release of their new album, I Don’t Run, I saw Hinds at Concorde 2 and they were EPIC.
The first time I saw them was back in 2017 at Manchester Academy 2. I literally knew nothing about them – but there was a ticket going, so I went along. I am SO GLAD I did! It was so much fun and since then I’ve nurtured a soft spot for them.
After a week of listening to their new album on repeat, I was so pleasantly surprised to find in the year since I saw them they’ve got SO MUCH BETTER. They’re better musicians, better performers, with a much stronger foundation for it all.
I absolutely adore the fact they came out drinking cans of Stella – lads lads lads – and gave such a euphoric performance. They have a kinda punkish element with full on girl power vibes, encouraging crowd surfing and getting on people’s shoulders with massive energy. I also loved it when the bassist, Ade, announced her parents were in the crowd.
If ya haven’t already, I can’t urge you enough to give Hinds a listen. You won’t regret it. I’m already excited for their next tour.
